Frühjahrsmess at Berliner Platz

For generations, the Frühjahrsmess has been a firm fixture of the Ludwigshafen spring. Berliner Platz – one of the central squares in the city center, directly at the main train station – offers the necessary space for a large Volksfest while ensuring maximum urban visibility.

Eleven Days of Festivities

With an eleven-day run – from March 19th to 29th, 2026 – the Frühjahrsmess is one of the longer Volksfeste in the Vorderpfalz. Daily opening hours from 11 am to 10 pm allow for both family visits in the afternoon and an evening party-Mess.

SkyWing Chain Carousel as the 2026 Highlight

The new highlight for 2026 is the SkyWing chain carousel, which operates at a height of 40 meters, offering spectacular views over the city center and the Rhine. With this, the Mess enhances its ride offerings with one of the most impressive carousels in Southern Germany.

Classic Rides

In addition, the classics of modern Volksfeste are a must: the Break Dancer with its spinning gondolas, the Freestyle Jumper as a trampoline roller coaster, the bumper cars, family carousels for the little ones, game stalls, shooting galleries, candy stalls, and food stands with classic Mess specialties from Magenbrot (gingerbread) to Bratwurst (sausage).

Family Day and Opening Fireworks

On Thursday, March 26th, Family Day will take place with reduced prices for families with children. The festive climax will be the opening fireworks on Saturday, March 28th, at 9 pm – a twenty-minute spectacle over Berliner Platz.
