Open-Air Series on the Outskirts of Friedberg
The Friedberg Open Air Sommer series is one of the established open-air formats in the Rhine-Main region. The venue is the Seewiese on the outskirts of Friedberg in the Wetterau – a spacious green area with a lake shore, suitable for open-air concerts with several thousand spectators. In the summer of 2026, the program is spread over ten days in early July with four major concert evenings.
Friedberg in the Wetterau
Friedberg is the district town of the Wetterau district, about 30 kilometers north of Frankfurt. The medieval Friedberg Castle and the town church characterize the cityscape, but the Seewiese is located slightly outside, thus offering the necessary space for large events.
The 2026 Program – Classics Meet Schlager and Pop
The lineup for Friedberg Open Air Sommer 2026 is deliberately broad: ZZ TOP (July 3rd) as American blues-rock legends, Mark Forster (July 10th) as a German pop star, the 90s Super Show (July 11th) as a nostalgia concert with acts from the 90s, and Roland Kaiser (July 12th) as a figurehead of German Schlager. Thus, the series caters to a spectrum from city dwellers to festival tourists.
