Four days of Ascension Day, US-Cars, Country, Truckers and Children's Festival at Helenesee near Frankfurt (Oder)
Some festivals fit into one category — the Frankfurter Himmelfahrt at Helenesee does not. The four-day festival on Brandenburg's largest bathing lake combines several concepts on one festival meadow: a classic Ascension Day/Father's Day festival, a US-Car and Trucker show, a country festival with line dancing, a children's festival, and a large flea market. The whole event is held directly on the beach of the Helenesee, a former open-cast mine that is now one of the most beautiful bathing spots in Brandenburg.
Thursday, May 14th, 2026 — Ascension Day and Father's Day — is dedicated to male fun: bull riding, sports competitions, a large flea market, the keg tapping ceremony with entertainment by BB Radio, and a 90s party in the evening. Friday and Saturday, the meadows transform into the Country and Trucker Festival with line dance workshops, live country bands, street food, BBQ smokers, and a beer garden. US-Cars and trucks from all over Germany will be on display. Sunday, May 17th, belongs to the children: the fairy tale casting with Puss in Boots (Erik Köhler), Vaiana's adventure show, a blue light mile with fire brigade, police, ambulances, and the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), Clown Herzchen, bouncy castles, and craft activities.
The Helenesee, south of Frankfurt (Oder), is considered one of the most beautiful bathing lakes in Eastern Germany. It was created from the former Helene open-cast lignite mine and now has crystal-clear water, fine sandy beaches, and a promenade several kilometers long. In summer, it is a magnet for Berliners — in May, during Ascension, it transforms into an unusual festival backdrop.
Day tickets cost €4 (Thu to Sat) and €3 (Sun). Children under 6 have free admission. Those who want to experience the Helenesee as campers can book a 4-day camping ticket in advance for €29 (or €35 shortly before the festival) — in addition to the caravan ticket. Tickets are available online via tixforgigs.com (Event #72684) or at the box office.
