Folk Festival Meets Trade Fair

The Frühlingsfest Elsterwerda is a combination of two worlds: a classic spring funfair with rides and a trade fair showcasing local businesses. Both have been held for years in the Ost industrial area of the small town in southern Brandenburg – a practical location with enough space for both worlds and where local companies can open their doors.

Three Days, Three Profiles

On Friday, April 17th, the festival begins culturally: from 3 PM, "Kulturkaffee" with the Schlager duo Jo & Josephine in the festival tent, from 4 PM the rides open, from 8 PM the "Spring Celebration 2026" with DJ T.H.O.M. – Charts, House, Dance/EDM, Throwbacks, and Party Classics.

On Saturday, April 18th, from 10 AM, 16 companies will present themselves with exciting activities, and from 11 AM the carousels will start spinning. From 8 PM, it's party time in the festival tent with the Band Atemlos and DJ ROCCO.

Sunday, April 19th, is Family Day: from 10 AM, companies open their factory gates with special promotions, and from 11 AM, the full funfair operation resumes.

Rides for All Ages

The funfair is a traditional folk festival. Beach Jumper, Freefall Tower, roller coaster, Twister, bumper cars, carousels for the little ones, plus shooting galleries, prize stalls, and candy stands. Children will find bouncy castles and a petting zoo, while adults can enjoy the beer garden and bratwurst stand.

Elsterwerda and Elbe-Elster

Elsterwerda is located in the southernmost tip of the state of Brandenburg, in the Elbe-Elster district, on the border with Saxony. The town is small (around 7,500 inhabitants) but rich in tradition – the Frühlingsfest is one of the region's largest events and attracts visitors from Saxony and the Wittenberg area of Saxony-Anhalt.

Free Admission

As with many rural spring festivals in Brandenburg, admission is free. You only pay if you go on rides or eat in the festival tent. An affordable day trip for families from the south of the state.
