Spring Festival of the Business Association

The Frühlingsfest Spaß an der Straß is the annual spring festival of the Werbegemeinschaft Bohmte — an association of local businesses and entrepreneurs. The festival successfully combines city marketing and festival culture: shops benefit from increased footfall, while visitors enjoy a lively weekend with events and open shopping hours.

Three Days at the End of April 2026

The 2026 edition runs from Friday, April 24, to Sunday, April 26 — the weekend before Easter. The venue is the Hauptstraße Bohmte (Bohmte Main Street), which will be transformed into a pedestrian zone and festival grounds for the event.

Open Shops and Promotions

The shops on the main street will open their doors, inviting visitors with special promotions, offers, and tastings. This turns spring shopping into a social event and provides a significant seasonal boost to the local economy.

Stage Music and Entertainment Program

Local and regional bands will perform on the central festival stage. The music program ranges from pop and rock to acoustic sets and hits from Schlager and cover bands. Additionally, there will be entertainment programs for children, walking acts, street artists, and community group activities.

Showmen and Street Food

Classic showmen's attractions — carousels for children, smaller rides, skill games — complement the scene. Street food stalls will offer bratwurst, crêpes, fries, candied almonds, burgers, vegetarian options, and a selection of beverages.

Bohmte — Spring at the Wiehengebirge

Bohmte is located on the southern edge of the Wiehengebirge mountain range in northwestern Osnabrücker Land. The spring festival marks the lively start of the festival season for the year — preceding the Bohmter Schützenfest (marksmen's festival), the Erntedankfest (harvest festival), the May Market, and other highlights. Thus, Spaß an der Straß is an important opening event in the Bohmte event calendar.
