Night of the Volcanoes – Food Truck Festival Plaidt

Plaidt, a charming municipality with around 6,500 inhabitants in the Pellenz collective municipality in the Mayen-Koblenz district, is the opening location for the 19th Night of the Volcanoes in 2026. The food truck festival in Nettepark will form the opening of the ten-day festival week around Lake Laach from July 17 to 19. Nettepark, a green park area on the Nette stream, offers the ideal backdrop for a relaxed open-air festival.

Food truck festivals have established themselves as a popular format in recent years: mobile kitchens from all over the world gather in one place, offering visitors a culinary journey around the globe. In Plaidt, a selection of food trucks from the region and beyond will gather: burgers and BBQ, Asian specialties, Mexican street food, vegan and vegetarian options, Mediterranean classics, German bratwurst and potato pancakes, plus sweet options like crêpes, waffles, and ice cream.

The culinary offerings will be accompanied by live music on the festival stage. The musical selection typically ranges from cover bands and acoustic acts to DJ sets, transforming the food truck festival into a relaxed summer party. Families will find plenty of space in the park for a picnic atmosphere, and children can run around in the green.

The opening hours are generous: Friday 5–10 PM (opening), Saturday 12–10 PM (main day), and Sunday 12–6 PM (family day). This schedule caters to both the need for after-work socializing (Friday) and the weekend family program (Saturday/Sunday).

Plaidt is located not far from Andernach and Koblenz and is easily accessible via the A 61 motorway (Plaidt exit). As part of the Night of the Volcanoes, the food truck festival typically attracts several thousand visitors, thus opening the festival week with high visibility.
