Schloss Malberg Concert – French Night

The French Night at Schloss Malberg continues the 2026 concert series, bringing French chamber music to the elegant music salon of the baroque castle. With Mutsumi Ito on flute and Shinnosuke Inugai on piano, two distinguished soloists will perform a repertoire of modern French composers.

Flutist Mutsumi Ito and pianist Shinnosuke Inugai are accomplished chamber musicians. Their duo combines Japanese sonic culture with European repertoire tradition. The focus of their joint program is the exploration of French music – with its specific color palette, elegance, and sonic sensitivity.

Program Composers

The selection of works includes three cornerstones of 20th-century French music:

• Francis Poulenc: A member of Les Six, known for clear lines, melodic accessibility, and French esprit.
• Henri Dutilleux: One of the most significant French composers of the second half of the 20th century, with a highly differentiated sonic language.
• Jean-Michel Damase: A pianist and composer whose flute works are part of the standard repertoire.

Schloss Malberg

Schloss Malberg in the municipality of Densborn is a baroque castle complex from the 18th century. After extensive restoration, it is now a cultural hub for the Eifel region, hosting concerts, readings, exhibitions, and events. The music salon, with its historic rooms and specific acoustics, provides an ideal setting for chamber music.
