30th anniversary edition of the legendary punk-rock open-air on the Weser beach in Nordenham — two days of live music under the open sky
The Fonsstock Festival is an institution in the North German punk and rock scene. Since the 1990s, the festival has gathered bands and audiences from all over Germany at the Osterfeuerwiese on the Großensieler Weser beach in Nordenham every year — and will celebrate its 30th edition in 2026. The direct view of the Weser river, the maritime atmosphere, and the volunteer-run DIY concept make the festival one of the most distinctive open-airs in the northwest.
The musical focus is on punk rock, ska, and hard rock. The organizers have always focused on a mix of established scene greats and up-and-coming acts. For the 30th anniversary edition, the organizers have put together a special lineup: Massendefekt, Rogers, Erik Cohen, Booze and Glory, and Marathonmann are confirmed, among others. A total of over twelve bands will be performing on stage.
The festival runs for two days, Friday and Saturday. Doors open in the late afternoon, the stage program begins in the early evening and continues late into the night. The open-air location directly on the Weser beach gives the festival a special atmosphere — with sunsets over the Weser included.
In addition to the stage program, social interaction is part of Fonsstock's core identity: Punk, skate, and rock fans from all over northwestern Germany meet, long conversations between sets, merchandise stands of the bands, food stalls with vegan and vegetarian options. The volunteer team behind the festival has consistently maintained the DIY ethos of the punk scene for three decades.
Tickets are available via the festival website and pre-sale at Reservix. The price is traditionally well below the level of large mainstream festivals — a deliberate statement by the organizers for low entry barriers in the scene.
For its 30th edition, the Fonsstock team is gearing up with a dense lineup featuring scene heroes and newcomers. The organizers are once again focusing on the proven mix of punk, ska, and rock and promise a particularly festive festival atmosphere.
Two days of open-air on the Weser beach, several bands per day, fair ticket prices, and a festival site that has been continuously developed for decades — without losing its DIY character.
