The 2026 season includes four Saturday dates:

• Saturday, August 8, 2026 — Late summer date

For Private Sellers Only

An important feature: At Schnellenmarkt, only private sellers are permitted. This means that no dealers or commercial traders offer their goods; instead, residents from Uelzen and the surrounding area sell items they no longer need from their cellars, attics, and garages. The range includes old books, toys, dishes, clothing, tools, vinyl records, and curious collector's items. The atmosphere is personal — buyers chat with sellers and often learn the story behind the items.

Low Stand Fee

The stand fee of just 2 Euros per meter is nominal and makes the market accessible to everyone. Those wishing to reserve a stand should register with the Hanseatic City of Uelzen. The low barriers ensure a lively, diverse market scene — young families clear out children's clothes, retirees present their collections, students sell old books.

Book Flea Market on June 13

A special variant is the city library's large book flea market on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 8 AM to 1 PM. Here, withdrawn books from the city library and donations are offered at low prices — a treasure trove for book lovers, featuring fiction, non-fiction, children's books, and coffee table books. The proceeds benefit the city library.
