About Festungssommer Koblenz

The Festungssommer Koblenz is the most important open-air concert series in the region between the Middle Rhine and the Moselle. From May to September, the inner courtyard of Ehrenbreitstein Fortress is transformed into a spectacular open-air stage overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The concert series is organized by Café Hahn and brings top acts from rock, pop, Schlager, folk, metal, and comedy each season. The 2026 lineup ranges from Saltatio Mortis and Bodo Wartke to Max Giesinger, Brings, Sportfreunde Stiller, and Völkerball, as well as In Extremo, Helge Schneider, Doro Pesch, and Kasalla.

The Festungssommer Koblenz is the musical summer calling card of the city at the Deutsches Eck. The organizer is the Koblenz cultural center Café Hahn, which has been producing concerts at Ehrenbreitstein Fortress for years and brings a variety of top acts to the city during the high summer season.

Venue

Ehrenbreitstein Fortress is one of the largest preserved fortress complexes in Europe and is easily accessible via the cable car from Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer in just a few minutes. The inner courtyard offers a spectacular open-air stage with a view of the Rhine Valley — one of the most atmospheric concert backdrops in Germany.
