World premiere of "Finden, was verloren schien" – Commissioned composition for the 50th anniversary of the Domsingschule Braunschweig
The Domsingschule Braunschweig was founded fifty years ago and has since decisively shaped the city's sacred music landscape. In recent decades, numerous singers have emerged from the Domsingschule, now active in choirs, ensembles, and on international opera stages.
For its anniversary, the Domsingschule has commissioned its own commissioned composition: "Finden, was verloren schien". The work will have its world premiere on May 9, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Braunschweig Cathedral (Dom St. Blasii). It brings together the various ensembles of the Domsingschule and the Cathedral in a unified sound.
The world premiere also opens the festival week celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Domsingschule, which will feature further concerts, services, and gatherings. The Braunschweig Cathedral (Dom St. Blasii), as the mother church of the Domsingschule, provides a historically fitting setting.
The opening concert will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Braunschweig Cathedral (Dom St. Blasii) on Braunschweig's Cathedral Square. The musical direction is by Elke Lindemann.
