Club Life You Can Experience

Voluntary work sustains the social and cultural life in rural Mecklenburg-Vorpommern – nowhere is this more palpable than in Löcknitz, a community of just over 3,000 inhabitants right on the Polish border. The Fest der Vereine is the annual showcase of this diversity: everyone is invited who wants to know what's happening right on their doorstep – or who simply wants to spend a relaxed early summer afternoon on the castle grounds.

Who's Participating?

On the castle grounds and in the castle cellar, you'll find, among others:

• Fishing club – demonstration fishing and fresh smoked fish from the stand
• Women's sports groups with participatory exercises
• Dance club with show dances and workshops
• Local history and castle association with guided tours of the castle
• Judo club with demonstrations and trial training for children
• Osteoporosis group with advice and gentle exercises
• Primary school with contributions from students

Family and Children's Program

A bouncy castle, craft stations, and hands-on activities are set up for children. Associations like the fire department showcase their vehicles and equipment up close. Anyone interested can spontaneously join a sports or dance demonstration.

Bratwurst, Cake, and Castle Tours

Bratwurst from a charcoal grill, homemade cakes from the associations, and drinks at association prices ensure refreshments. Guided tours of the castle and bergfried (keep) run concurrently, along with short presentations of the castle gallery.

Getting to Löcknitz

Löcknitz is located in the far northeast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, directly on the German-Polish border. Travel by regional train from Berlin or Szczecin to Löcknitz station, or by car via the A11 (Penkun exit) or B104.
