Weekly meeting point with Nahe winemakers, market vendors, and live music after work
Feierabendmärkte (after-work markets) have become established as popular urban formats in many German cities in recent years. The concept combines the classic weekly market with the convivial character of a city festival and a wine festival. Bad Kreuznach has adopted the concept and created a successful series with the Feierabendmarkt at Kornmarkt, which enters a new season each year.
A special feature of the Bad Kreuznach Feierabendmarkt is the strong presence of Nahe winemakers. They serve their wines directly at the market stall, making the market a relaxed tasting evening in the middle of the city. The diversity of Nahe wines is represented by changing winemakers throughout the season.
In addition to the winemakers, regional vendors are present: farms with fresh produce, dairies, bakeries, manufactories for regional specialties, beekeepers, and providers of crafts and artisanal goods. The offerings sometimes change from one date to the next, making each market day a new discovery.
Local bands or acoustic groups play on a small stage on market days. The musical accompaniment gives the market the character of a relaxed city festival. After work, people meet for a glass of wine, chat with neighbors and acquaintances, and enjoy the atmosphere.
