2026
About Kinderfastnacht FCV
The FCV Frankenthal Children's Carnival on Sunday, February 8, 2026, is a day specially designed by the club for its youngest carnival enthusiasts. With a children's costume ball, a colourful programme, dancing, and games, the Frankenthaler Carneval Verein von 1820 e.V. transforms its event hall into a paradise for children up to about 12 years old. The event follows the traditional Grand Gala Session on the previous evening and offers children the opportunity to experience carnival in a child-friendly setting.
Performances by children's dance groups, child-oriented show acts, games, and small gifts ensure beaming smiles — a must-attend event for families in Frankenthal during the carnival season.

Carnival for the Little Ones
While the adults celebrate carnival at the Grand Gala Session the evening before, Sunday belongs to the children. The FCV Children's Carnival has been a firm fixture in Frankenthal's carnival planning for decades and offers a distinct format tailored to the needs of young carnival fans. Volume, programme density, and attention spans are adjusted for the young audience.
Children's Costume Ball
The highlight of the event is the children's costume ball. Costumed children find a forum here to present their outfits — princesses, pirates, animals, fantasy creatures, classic carnival costumes. A DJ plays children's music, a master of ceremonies moderates in a child-friendly manner, and interactive games are integrated into the schedule.
Performances by Children's Dance Groups
The FCV's children's dance groups present their choreographies — an opportunity to give the young talents stage experience while building the next generation of dancers. Guest children's groups from the Vorderpfalz region also frequently perform.
Games and Programme
Various games round off the programme: a 'Carnival Hat Carousel', tombola draws with child-friendly prizes, dance competitions, sing-alongs. Refreshments include hot chocolate, juice, lemonade, cakes, and small savoury snacks — all tailored to children's needs.
FCV Tradition
With over 200 years of tradition, the Frankenthaler Carneval Verein von 1820 e.V. is one of the oldest carnival clubs in Southern Germany. The Children's Carnival is part of the club's youth development work and plays an important role in preserving carnival culture in Frankenthal.
