42 Years of Club Festival
Since 1984, the FCN-Hafenfest has been one of the major summer events in Hooksiel. FC Nordsee Hooksiel e.V. organizes the festival entirely independently – a remarkable example of volunteer commitment that has shaped the club's activities and social life of the harbour town for over four decades.
Dragon Boat Races
The highlight of the festival weekend is the dragon boat race in the harbour basin. Teams from clubs, companies, and groups of friends compete against each other in colourful boats, cheered on by spectators on the jetties. Drummers set the rhythm, and the atmosphere at the harbour is fantastic.
Live Music on the Harbour Stage
Live music is performed on the harbour stage on all four festival days. Local bands and national acts alternate, with a musical spectrum ranging from rock and cover bands to maritime folk music and party hits.
Grand Raffle
The grand raffle is an institution: hundreds of prizes donated by local sponsors are raffled off. The tickets are popular and directly support the club's activities, especially youth sports at FC Nordsee.
Food and Drink at the Harbour
Bratwurst stand, beer tent, and cake tent cater to visitors. All run by volunteers, with family-friendly prices. This keeps the festival affordable even for young families.
100 Percent Volunteer-Run
Around 200 club members and friends of FC Nordsee work hand in hand to make the festival happen. This volunteer effort makes the FCN-Hafenfest a particularly authentic Frisian club festival.
FCN-Hafenfest — edition 2026
The 2026 edition is the 42nd in a row and is marked by its established tradition. Year after year, FC Nordsee Hooksiel proves that volunteer commitment and a large folk festival (Volksfest) are not mutually exclusive but mutually reinforcing.
The dragon boat races are the sporting highlight, the raffle an entertaining must-do, and the stage program provides the musical framework for four intense festival days.
