Weinsheim — a small district with a vibrant club life

Worms-Weinsheim is one of the smaller districts of Worms in the west, adjacent to Horchheim. Despite its manageable size, the town cultivates a distinct club culture that creates several opportunities for community interaction each year. The Strawberry Festival is one of these highlights, traditionally held in early summer, bringing the entire district family together.

The strawberry at the center

With the start of the strawberry season, the community center transforms into a showcase of sweet specialties: strawberry cake, strawberry punch, strawberry slices, and strawberry jam are the stars, complemented by a range of hearty food and drinks. The fruit is both a seasonal marker and the occasion for a celebration attended by all generations.

Social character

A special feature of the festival is its consistently charitable nature: the proceeds from the Strawberry Festival traditionally go to local clubs and organizations active in Worms-Weinsheim and Horchheim. Thus, what is sold in terms of cake and punch flows directly back into the promotion of the district — from sports clubs and youth work to church initiatives.

The organizer is the CDU local chapter Horchheim-Weinsheim. However, the festival is explicitly open to the entire district community and is understood as volunteer commitment in service of the local community — political messages are not the focus; rather, it's about meeting and solidarity.
