The Bad Emser Karnevalsgesellschaft EKG is one of the oldest carnival societies in the Lahntal valley. Its session program attracts hundreds of active participants and thousands of visitors to the halls and streets of Bad Ems every year.
The kick-off in 2026 is the Children's Carnival on Sunday, February 8th, in the Brunnenhalle Häckers. An afternoon program for the youngest jesters with dance groups, interactive games, and small performances by the EKG guards.
On Schwerdonnerstag, February 12th, 2026, the traditional town hall storming takes place: the EKG symbolically takes over power in the town hall, and the mayor is "removed" from office. The carnival session is thus officially in the hands of the jesters.
On Saturday, February 14th, 2026, the elegant Black-White Party will be held in the Kurhaus Bad Ems – a social highlight of the Bad Ems Carnival, combining the town's spa tradition with a modern party format. Dress code: black and white.
The climax of the session is the period from Fastnachtssonntag, February 15th, to Veilchendienstag, February 17th, 2026, with parades, hall events, and festivities throughout the town.
