Largest Temporary Ice Rink in the Northwest
The Nordseehalle Emden is transformed into a 1,100-square-meter ice hall for a period of five to six weeks. This makes Eiszeit in Emden one of the largest temporary ice rinks in northern Germany. The offering is aimed at families, school classes, hobby athletes, and sports clubs.
Opening Party with Band Sixpack
The kick-off on Saturday, January 24, 2026, is the opening party with the cover band Sixpack. The party combines live music, ice skating, and gastronomy and is a highlight traditionally attended by a broad audience from Emden and the surrounding area.
Offerings and School Sessions
During the day, the ice rink offers free ice skating for all age groups. Ice skates can be rented on-site. The learning bear Fietje is a seating and support aid for ice skating beginners, with which initial attempts on the ice can be safely completed. Ice stock sport is offered on separate lanes and can be booked for groups, families, and companies. On weekdays from 9:30 AM to 1 PM, the lanes are exclusively available for kindergartens and school classes.
Admission Prices and Special Events
Admission prices are tiered socially: Adults pay €6, children and students €4, family tickets cost €18. Special events such as disco nights, ice hockey demonstrations, theme nights, and club nights complement the regular operation. Eiszeit in Emden is one of the few winter sports offerings in the East Frisian region and is very well attended.
