Over a month of Christmas market against the backdrop of the medieval half-timbered old town
With its historic old town, Einbeck boasts one of the most impressive half-timbered backdrops in Germany. Over 400 half-timbered houses from several centuries shape the cityscape, and the market square with the Eulenspiegel fountain and the magnificent town hall is one of the most beautiful squares in Northern Germany. Against this backdrop, the Einbeck Christmas Village unfolds its special magic every year.
The Einbeck Christmas Village has a special feature that distinguishes it from many classic Christmas markets: its duration. From the end of November until shortly before New Year's Eve – for almost a month – the market remains open. This gives visitors many opportunities to visit the Christmas Village, whether as an introduction to the Advent season, a meeting point with friends, or to boost the festive spirit in the days between Christmas and New Year's.
The market offers the classic range of a high-quality Christmas market: mulled wine, punch, regional specialties, bratwurst, potato pancakes, crêpes, candied almonds, and much more. Craft stalls present handmade gift ideas, Christmas tree decorations, candles, felt products, pottery, and more. The Einbeck brewery is also present with its bock beer specialties.
The atmosphere is characterized by a lovingly designed stall concept, festive lighting, and musical programs. Brass choirs, children's choirs, and music groups from the region perform regularly, creating atmospheric Advent evenings. Santa Claus also visits the market – a highlight, especially for young visitors.
The bock beer town of Einbeck presents itself in its most beautiful form during the Advent season. Those who visit the Christmas Village should take time for a stroll through the historic old town and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the half-timbered town in the winter glow of lights.
The 2026 edition of the Einbeck Christmas Village continues the tradition of one of Southern Lower Saxony's most beautiful Christmas markets. The concept of a market lasting over a month allows visitors to experience the Christmas Village in various atmospheres – from the 1st Advent until shortly before New Year's Eve.
The medieval half-timbered backdrop is impressively renewed every evening as the festive lighting bathes the houses and the square in a warm glow.
