Edelstein-Serenade Series in the Hunsrück

The Edelstein-Serenade series of the Herrstein-Rhaunen municipality combines the cultural identity of the Idar-Oberstein gemstone region with regional choir and club life. In summer, concerts with various focuses take place at changing locations within the municipality – from classical vocal programs and folk song evenings to jazz events. The "Cool Summer Night" in Niederwörresbach belongs to the folk song segment of the series.

Folk Song Evening at Auf der Warth

The venue is the square "Auf der Warth" in Niederwörresbach – a small, atmospherically charming spot in the village. The concert lasts two hours, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, opening in the late afternoon with warm summer light and concluding as dusk sets in. The program includes classic German folk songs, summer melodies, and occasionally pieces from operettas or the popular repertoire.

Regional Choirs and Piano Accompaniment

Participants include choirs from the region, particularly the Männergesangverein 1856 (Male Choir 1856) and the Gemischter Chor Herrstein 1951 (Mixed Choir Herrstein 1951). The musical direction and piano accompaniment are by Frank Dalheimer. The Edelstein-Serenade concerts are free to attend and are considered a cultural initiative by the municipality for its residents and guests.
