The Duhner Festtagsmarkt is a special kind of German Christmas market: it doesn't start during Advent, but on the first day of Christmas — and runs into the new year. It fills a gap: those who missed the classic Christmas atmosphere or wish to extend it will find the perfect market here.

Duhnen Beach Promenade Around the Village Fountain

The venue is the Duhnen beach promenade around the village fountain. The organizer is the Verkehrsverein Duhnen (Duhnen Tourist Association). The location is extraordinary: a Christmas market between dunes, dyke, and the sea — rarely do festive romance and the North Sea backdrop combine so directly.

New Year's Eve Open-Air Party

The highlight is the New Year's Eve Open-Air Party on December 31, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Live music, DJ sets, punch, and mulled wine — and at the turn of the year, fireworks over the North Sea. One of Germany's most spectacular New Year's Eve locations.

Winter Culinary Delights

The offerings follow classic Christmas market cuisine: Glühwein (mulled wine, also non-alcoholic), punch, bratwurst (sausage), crêpes. Plus warm drinks to ward off the North Sea breeze and small snacks in between.
