The summer program Draussen im Grünen is one of the most delightful inventions of Hamburg's concert culture: Indie, Pop, and Spoken Word under the open sky in the music pavilion of Planten un Blomen park. The historic music pavilion, an open wooden stage with a roof in the heart of the park, seats approximately 1,200 people on the lawn in front. A Long Festival Instead of a Weekend

Unlike most festivals, Draussen im Grünen spans four weeks – from the end of July to the end of August. Each concert is a standalone event, with its own headliner and ticket. This makes the program an extended summer concert series rather than a compact festival.

Free & Outdoors in the Green

Between the ticketed evenings, there are "UMSONST & DRAUSSEN IM GRÜNEN" (UuDiG) – free concerts at the same music pavilion. This keeps the park an open space, ensuring concert enjoyment isn't dependent on your wallet.
