About Village Flea Market Ilsede

On a Sunday in June, the three districts of Ölsburg, Solschen and Münstedt in the municipality of Ilsede simultaneously transform into a large village flea market. Residents set up tables, stalls, and displays in front of their houses, in their front gardens and driveways, offering used clothing, toys, books, household items, furniture, and curiosities. This form of decentralized flea market is a proven model that involves the entire village and makes browsing through the villages a special experience. In Ölsburg, the activity is concentrated around the Burgplatz (castle square), while in Solschen and Münstedt, the stalls are spread throughout the entire village.

Three Villages, One Flea Market Day

The concept of the village flea market has established itself in many Lower Saxony villages in recent years and enjoys growing popularity. Instead of a central marketplace, stalls are set up on private properties, front gardens, and driveways, turning the entire village into a market. Visitors wander through the streets, discover something new at every house, and chat with the residents.

Ölsburg at the Burgplatz

In Ölsburg, the flea market is concentrated around the historic Burgplatz and the surrounding village. The organizing team coordinates registrations and ensures an orderly distribution of stalls. The sales stands are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central catering at the Burgplatz invites visitors to take a break.

Solschen Throughout the Village

In Solschen, the stalls are spread throughout the entire village, without a fixed central location. The village flea market team manages the registrations and provides an overview map with the participating addresses. Here too, the stalls are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Münstedt with the Volunteer Fire Brigade Support Association

In Münstedt, the support association of the Münstedt Volunteer Fire Brigade organizes the flea market. Here too, the stalls are spread throughout the entire village. The opening hours are slightly staggered, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Catering is organized by the support association, with proceeds benefiting the fire brigade's youth work.

More Than Consumption, A Social Event

The village flea market is more than a sales event. It is a social event where the village community presents itself, encounters with neighbors arise, former residents return, and guests from neighboring villages get to know the communities. The parallel organization in three villages makes the weekend a regional flea market highlight.
