Four-day open-air village festival in the Saale-Unstrut wine region — July 9 to 12, 2026
Großheringen is located in the northernmost part of the Weimarer Land district, at the transition to the Saale-Unstrut wine-growing region. Here, at the sports field with its open-air stage, the Dorffestspiele take place annually — one of the larger village festivals in the region, offering several days of stage programs, Schlager music, dancing, and entertainment for families.
In 2026, the event will run from July 9 to 12 (Thursday to Sunday). Four days of open-air programming on the proven sports field stage, with nearby camping facilities and continuous catering. The mix of Schlager, pop, and folk music makes the festival particularly attractive to an older and family-oriented audience.
Several stars and bands from the Schlager and party scene are regular guests at the Dorffestspiele. Schlager singer Laura Wilde often performs — the artist, born in Marienberg, Saxony, belongs to the younger generation of German Schlager music. The Saxon COCO-BAND provides the evening dance atmosphere as a party band. In addition, regional bands from Weimarer Land and Saxony-Anhalt contribute to the program.
Großheringen is a traditional wine town on the Saale River, belonging to the northernmost German wine-growing region, Saale-Unstrut. The region has been producing wine since the Middle Ages — local vintners are regularly represented at the Dorffestspiele with tasting booths. The festival thus combines folk festival atmosphere with regional wine identity.
Throughout the festival days, there are program items for all age groups: children's carousel and play activities during the day, stage acts in the afternoon and evening, dancing until late at night. Snack stands with bratwurst, game dishes, and sweets, along with draft beer and wine from the Saale-Unstrut region.
Großheringen station is on the Erfurt — Halle/Naumburg line — an important hub. About a 10-minute walk from the station to the sports field with the open-air stage. A4 exit Apolda, then B87 towards Naumburg, or A9 exit Bad Dürrenberg.
From July 9 to 12, 2026, the Großheringen sports field will transform into a festival ground. During the day, there will be family entertainment and wine tastings from the Saale-Unstrut region; in the evenings, the stage program will feature Schlager stars and party bands.
Exact performance times and artist confirmations will be available before the festival on grossheringen.eu and via the artists' websites (Laura Wilde, COCO-BAND).
Admission prices vary depending on the program item and day. Day tickets and multi-day tickets are available — details on the municipal website. Children up to a certain age typically receive discounts or free admission.
