Annual village festival of the local heritage association in Schönbuch
Steinenbronn is located in Schönbuch — the extensive forest area southwest of Stuttgart — about 20 km from the center of the state capital. With just under 6,500 inhabitants, it is a typical Swabian residential community with an active club scene. The Heimatverein Steinenbronn e.V., founded in 1966, is the organizer of the village festival calendar and guardian of local heritage culture.
The 2026 village festival will take place on Saturday, June 27. It is a classic Swabian village festival — cozy, community-oriented, with catering by the associations, Swabian music, and an open program for all generations. The venue is the Heimathaus and Heimatscheuer at Schafgartenstraße 5 — the traditional club building of the Heimatverein.
For 60 years, the Heimatverein Steinenbronn has been preserving local history and customs: maintenance of historic buildings, local archive, lectures on local history, exhibitions on rural traditions. Its village festival is the annual meeting point of the association and the public — an accessible opportunity to connect the community's history and present.
The village festival combines typical elements of Swabian village festivals: a morning pint with brass music, lunch with classic Swabian specialties (Maultaschen, Saiten und Brot, Swabian potato salad), coffee and cake in the afternoon, and a cozy get-together in the evening in the festival tent or outdoors.
The village festival is listed in the official Bw-Guide for festivals and events in the Böblingen/Stuttgart region as an annual event — an established event with regular guests from all over the Schönbuch foothills.
The village festival on June 27, 2026, opens at the Heimathaus and the adjacent Heimatscheuer at Schafgartenstraße. The organizer is the Heimatverein Steinenbronn e.V., founded in 1966 and for 60 years the custodian of the village festival culture in the Schönbuch suburb.
