Münster's indoor-outdoor electronic festival at Hawerkamp and Stadthafen — 15,000 visitors, 100 acts, 5 open-air stages + 9 club floors
In 16 years, the Docklands Festival has carved out an unusual niche: an electronic music festival that is not just open-air but seamlessly fuses an open-air day and a club night in a choreographed sequence. Those standing at Hawerkamp by the Stadthafen at 11:30 AM begin a 12 to 18-hour day that unfolds across five open-air stages and transitions seamlessly into six clubs with a total of nine dance floors in the evening. 15,000 visitors from over 20 nations flock to Münster every year — many from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Denmark, and the entire electronic music diaspora of Western Europe.
The festival kicks off on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:30 AM across five open-air stages at Hawerkamp / Stadthafen Münster. Each stage boasts its own curatorial character — from House-oriented sets to deeper Techno, Hard Techno, and Trance. As darkness falls, the focus shifts to the 6 clubs around the Hawerkamp area (including Sputnikhalle) — a total of 9 floors that keep the party going deep into the night and early Sunday morning.
The 2026 edition once again presents a blend of international headliners and carefully curated underground acts:
A total of approx. 100 acts spread across the five open-air stages and nine club floors — with Phase 3 tickets (€63), the festival hasn't sold out yet, but is typically fully booked by May.
Hawerkamp is a former industrial site repurposed since the 1990s as a hub for Münster's subculture and electronic scene. Along with the Sputnikhalle, several clubs, and live venues, it forms the festival topography together with the adjacent Stadthafen (repurposed harbor architecture, restaurants, bars). Visitors to Docklands inevitably get to know Münster's most exciting district outside the historic old town.
What sets Docklands apart from many other electronic festivals: It's neither a pure meadow open-air nor a pure club night, but a seamless choreography of both. Sunshine and open-air atmosphere during the day, club sweat and mainfloor pressure in the evening. In case of bad weather, the outdoor stages are moved indoors at short notice — the festival can proceed regardless of the weather.
The 2026 edition continues the choreography established since 2010, blending an open-air day with a club night. The full lineup and phase prices are continuously updated on docklands-festival.de. International headliners are combined with curated underground slots.
Full current lineup at docklands-festival.de and the festival press.
Phase 3 tickets from €63 — sales ongoing, May sell-out likely. VIP and upgrade options available.
By Car: A1 or A43 exit Münster-Süd / Münster-Nord, follow signs for Stadthafen. Parking is limited — traveling by train or bus is recommended. By Train: Münster Hauptbahnhof (main station), then a 15-minute walk or a bus to Hawerkamp.
Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 11:30 AM — until Sunday morning (club floors run continuously).
Arrive at Hawerkamp no earlier than 12 PM — the transition from open-air to club is the most exciting moment, and those who want to experience both worlds should test out the first club sets by 6 PM at the latest. Comfortable footwear, bring your own water bottle (refillable at festival stations), earplugs for the indoor floors.
