Beach Festival with a Safety Message
The DLRG/NIVEA Beach Festival in Harlesiel is part of a nationwide beach festival tour that takes place annually in several German seaside resorts. The concept is based on a partnership between the DLRG (German Life Saving Association) and the main sponsor NIVEA, who have been raising awareness for water safety together for years. On August 4, 2026, the tour stops in Harlesiel.
Games and Fun by the Water
The program consists of classic beach festival activities:
- Beach Games: Sack race, tug-of-war, beach olympiad
- Sandcastle Competitions: creative categories for different age groups
- Water Games: ball games, stand-up paddle taster courses
- Activity with the DLRG: safety workshops, water rescue demonstrations
- Family Activities: tombola, wheel of fortune, small gifts
The DLRG – Lifesavers on the Beach
For decades, the DLRG has been present on German beaches with its lifeguard teams, ensuring the safety of bathers. The beach festival makes the work of the lifesavers visible and tangible – demonstrations with rescue buoys, rescue boards, and first aid presentations impart knowledge that can save lives in an emergency.
Harlesiel – A Family-Friendly Beach
Harlesiel Beach is one of the most family-friendly beaches on the East Frisian coast. Quiet, with beach chairs, a children's playground, gentle water entry, and DLRG lifeguards. The beach festival thus fits perfectly with the character of the location and is a welcome highlight in the summer.
Free Admission – A Gift to Summer Guests
The beach festival is free to attend. NIVEA, as the main sponsor, covers the costs – in return, brand awareness is promoted. For families, the beach festival is an ideal way to spend a summer day with activities without having to dig deep into their pockets.
