About German Wine Harvest Festival
The German Wine Harvest Festival in Neustadt an der Weinstraße is not just Germany's largest winegrowers' festival — it is a Palatinate festival institution with a history dating back to 1935 and 18 days of continuous festival operations throughout Neustadt's city center. The 2026 edition runs from Friday, September 25th to Sunday, October 12th.
The festival is structured as a mosaic of several parallel events, which together offer the most comprehensive Palatinate wine experience:
- Palatinate Wine Village "Haiselscher" (Sep 25th–Oct 12th): traditional Palatinate wooden houses in the city center with wine service and specialties from Palatinate winegrowers.
- w.i.n.e.FESTival (Oct 2nd–11th): curated wine experience with thematic tastings.
- "Bon Vivant" Mirror Palace on Hetzelplatz: a stylish setting for tastings and events.
- Funfair (Oct 2nd–12th): traditional funfair with rides and showmen.
Within this framework, special events offer punctual highlights:
- Experience Sunday on October 4th from 1 PM to 6 PM throughout the city center.
- Sparkling Wine Day on October 3rd: tasting of approx. 100 sparkling wines.
- Young Winegrowers' Matinée on October 4th: Palatinate's upcoming winegrowers present their wines.
- 60th Grand Palatinate Wine Tasting on October 10th: guided tasting by the Palatinate Wine Brotherhood.
- Grand Winegrowers' Parade on October 11th: the festival's highlight with over 100 floats and music groups, presenting Palatinate wine queens and German wine majesties on ornate floats.
The opening on September 25th coincides with the coronation gala of the new German Wine Majesty — a festive combination of national wine policy and a Palatinate folk festival. Between the major special events, continuous festival operations continue in the Palatinate Wine Village and at the Mirror Palace — Palatinate wines, specialties, and atmosphere every day.

Friday, September 25th, 2026 — Opening
Opening of the Palatinate Wine Village Haiselscher in the city center. 7:30 PM–10:30 PM: Coronation Gala of the German Wine Majesty in the Stadthalle Saalbau.
September 26th – October 1st, 2026
Festival operations in the Palatinate Wine Village Haiselscher. Wine enjoyment and Palatinate specialties in the traditional wooden houses.
Friday, October 2nd, 2026
Start of the w.i.n.e.FESTival and the Funfair. 7:00 PM: Election of the 88th Palatinate Wine Queen in the Stadthalle Saalbau (Ticket €39).
Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 — Sparkling Wine Day
11:00 AM–6:00 PM in the "Bon Vivant" Mirror Palace: Tasting of approx. 100 sparkling wines.
Sunday, October 4th, 2026 — Experience Sunday

Route: Landauer Straße from Moltkestraße — Talstraße — Kohlplatz — Ludwigstraße — Maximilianstraße — corner Wiesenstraße/Konrad-Adenauer-Straße. Approx. 90 minutes. Palatinate Wine Queens and German Wine Majesties on ornate floats.
Monday, October 12th, 2026 — Festival Finale
Last festival day with Palatinate festival closing in the Wine Village and Funfair.
