Equestrian Sport in the Wendland

The Dannenberger Reitertage are among the highlights of equestrian sport in the district of Lüchow-Dannenberg. The organizer is the Reit- und Fahrverein Dannenberg e.V. with over 380 members — one of the strong riding clubs in Lower Saxony. The venue is the Hermann-Stolte-Stadion in Dannenberg, which becomes an equestrian sports arena during the four festival days.

From Beginners to the Top

The special format of the Reitertage: They combine competitions for beginners for young and new equestrian athletes with top-class elite sport. Dressage and show jumping are offered in several classes — from the E-level rider competition up to classes of national importance. This range makes the festival attractive for both the regional riding scene and top riders from Northern Germany.

Four Days of Equestrian Sport

The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the summer. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:

• Thursday: Arrival, stable check-in, first competitions for beginners
• Friday: Dressage competitions in various classes
• Saturday: Show jumping, major jumping classes, evening show program
• Sunday: Finals, award ceremonies, family program

Atmosphere and Region

The Reitertage attract riders, horses, trainers, and spectators from all over Northern Germany. The Hermann-Stolte-Stadion offers excellent infrastructure — courses, grandstand, stable tents, catering. The rural atmosphere of Dannenberg and the Wendland enhances the charm of the weekend.
