Over 150 exhibitors centered around the potato — November 1, 2026
The Dannenberger Kartoffelsonntag is a North German institution. For almost four decades — the 39th edition will take place in 2026 — the Dannenberg business association celebrates the unassuming tuber, which holds central agricultural importance for the Wendland-Elbtalaue region. The market always takes place on the first Sunday in November — in 2026 on Sunday, November 1st, from 12 PM to 5 PM.
More than 150 exhibitors transform the city center of Dannenberg into a stage for the potato:
A special attraction is the appearance of the Eggers company from Schaafhausen, which presents its harvesting technology in the center of Dannenberg. From harvesters to sorting belts, visitors get a rare glimpse into modern potato farming.
The Kartoffelsonntag also serves as a Sunday shopping event in the city center of Dannenberg. Shops, cafés, and restaurants participate in the festivities — the market regularly attracts several thousand visitors from all over Northern Germany.
