Cottbus Runs

As the sun slowly sets in September and Puschkinpark Cottbus is adorned with fairy lights, one of the largest grassroots sports events in Lausitz begins: the DAK Company Run Cottbus. Since its inception in 2013, the event has combined athletic activity, team events, and city experience. In 2026, the run enters its 14th edition — the starting gun will fire on September 3rd at 6:00 PM.

The Course: 4.5 km along the Spree

The course starts and finishes in Puschkinpark, leading along the Spree to the Spreewehrmühle and back on the opposite bank. The 4.5 km are flat and manageable — both beginners and ambitious runners will find their pace. Walkers and Nordic walkers are also explicitly welcome. Participants get to see Cottbus from a rare perspective: from the water, through the green inner-city parks.

Who Runs?

Employees of companies, clubs, authorities, and public servants, as well as apprentices, their owners, and family members, are eligible to participate. This makes the company run a deliberately low-threshold format — the focus is less on the fastest time and more on the shared experience. Nevertheless, individual and team rankings are kept: fastest woman, fastest man, fastest team (3 people), largest team, fastest apprentice, and most creative outfit.

Registration and Fees

Registration is exclusively online via firmenlauf-cottbus.de. Fees are tiered based on the registration date: €18 until May 1st, €20 until July 1st, €23 until September 2nd. The entry fee includes a race bib, timing transponder, and a finisher gift. On-site registration is not possible.

Cottbus, Capital of Lausitz

With around 100,000 inhabitants, Cottbus is Brandenburg's second-largest city and the center of Lower Lusatia. Visitors to the company run should combine the day with a stroll through Prince Pückler's Branitz Park Ensemble or a visit to the Cottbus Ostsee lake — both attractions are just a few minutes' drive away.
