Montabaur Castle is one of the most distinctive buildings in the Westerwald region. The yellow-and-white Baroque complex sits visibly on the Schlossberg and significantly shapes Montabaur's cityscape. Today, the castle is used as a hotel and conference center — the Akademie Deutscher Genossenschaften (ADG) is headquartered here. For the Christmas market, the castle opens its outdoor and indoor areas to visitors.
