Advent Market in a Historic Setting
The St. Nicholas and Christmas Market Bad Rothenfelde uses the unique backdrop of the Old Graduation Works, Brunnenplatz, and the area in front of the Kurmittelhaus. The blackthorn walls of the graduation works form an atmospheric backdrop, bathed in warm light to create a special Christmas mood.
Second Advent Weekend
The 2026 edition runs on the second Advent weekend — from Friday, December 4th, to Sunday, December 6th. Three days of Advent atmosphere with classic Christmas market offerings. With St. Nicholas Day on Sunday, the weekend gets an extra festive touch.
Culinary Delights and Gifts
At the market stalls, mulled wine, punch, hot chocolate, crêpes, lard pastries, candied almonds, bratwurst, and potato pancakes are served. Artisans also present Christmas decorations, gift items, nativity figures, candles, woodwork, knitwear, and natural cosmetics. This allows you to find Christmas gifts away from the mass market.
Followed by the Winter Village
Following the weekend of December 4th to 6th, the Winter Village starts on December 11th, 2026, and takes place on the following Advent weekends. This extends the festive Christmas atmosphere throughout December — a concept that is particularly popular with spa guests and day-trippers.
Bad Rothenfelde — Winter Spa Town
Bad Rothenfelde is also a popular destination in winter: The graduation works offer fresh brine mist inhalation even in the cold season, and the spa park invites you for walks. The Christmas market complements the winter program and makes a stay during Advent a special experience.
