Two-day wine festival with enjoyment and music on the market square of Bad Marienberg in the Westerwald
The Bad Marienberger Weinfest is one of the most enjoyable early summer events in the northern Westerwald. Selected wineries from Nahe, Rheinhessen, and the region present their wines on the charming market square of Bad Marienberg. Live music, regional gastronomy, and the relaxed atmosphere of the Westerwald spa town make the weekend an experience.
In 2026, the wine festival opens on Friday, May 29th, and Saturday, May 30th. Friday from 6 PM with opening and music from 7 PM by Resi Berger & Band. Saturday from 4 PM with Original Naubergmusikanten in the afternoon and the band Extrem in the evening from 7 PM. Represented wineries: Norbert Eckes, Ritter von der Nahe, Fels, Hessel-Weine, Gerhard Kissinger. Free admission.
Bad Marienberg is located in the High Westerwald and is a state-recognized climatic health resort. The small town with around 5,500 inhabitants captivates with its location in the Hoher Westerwald Nature Park, its spa tradition with Kneipp facilities and forests, and its lively downtown life around the market square. The annual wine festival is one of the social highlights of the pre-summer season.
The Westerwald is not a wine-growing region — and that's precisely why a wine festival here is a special event. Selected wineries from the nearby growing regions of Nahe, Rheinhessen, and Mittelrhein are invited. This creates a welcome encounter between Westerwald hospitality and Rhenish-Franconian wine culture.
Five wineries present their wines: Weingut Norbert Eckes, Ritter von der Nahe, Fels, Hessel-Weine, and Gerhard Kissinger. The spectrum ranges from dry Rieslings to fruity Burgundies to sweeter Spätlesen, from classic white wines to young red wines. Each winery brings its own assortment, often including sparkling wines and occasionally fine brandies.
On Friday evening from 7 PM, Resi Berger & Band will play a program of Schlager, mood music, and classics. On Saturday afternoon, the Original Naubergmusikanten will provide folk music — perfect for chatting and tasting. On Saturday evening from 7 PM, the band Extrem will heat things up with cover and party songs.
The Food Factory by Edeka provides a coordinated culinary offering that pairs well with the wines: hot dishes, snacks, regional specialties. Admission to the entire festival is free. Wines, food, and drinks are paid for at the respective stands. The main sponsor is rhenag, the regional energy and water supply company.
