Wine Market in the Historic Old Town

The Celler Weinmarkt is one of the classics of Celle's summer calendar. The venue is the Großer Plan, one of the most beautiful squares in the city – framed by magnificent half-timbered houses, which are among the oldest and best-preserved in Northern Germany.

Concept: Winegrowers and Enjoyment

For five days, winegrowers from various German growing regions personally present their wines. The focus is on Riesling, Spätburgunder, Weißburgunder, Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, and Sekt (sparkling wine). Accompanying them, caterers offer culinary delights to go with the wine – Flammkuchen, cheese, antipasti, and small regional-inspired dishes.

New Organizer from 2026

From the 2026 edition onwards, Congress Union Celle will take over the organization of the wine market. This marks the beginning of a new chapter for the event: proven elements are to be preserved, and fresh accents will be added. The "Celler Weinmarkt" brand is thus secured and placed on a new organizational basis.

Live Music and Atmosphere

Live music accompanies the evenings: small acoustic sets, jazz combos, and singer-songwriters create atmospheric summer evenings on the Großer Plan – without giving it the character of a loud city festival. It is precisely this mix of wine culture, enjoyment, and atmosphere that makes the festival so appealing.
