52 Years of Street Festival – A Sielhafen Tradition

In 2026, the Carolinensiel Street Festival celebrates its 52nd edition, making it a firmly established summer tradition in the East Frisian Sielhafen town. From July 31st to August 2nd, 2026, three days of programming, live music, and spectacular fireworks will define the events around the museum harbour.

Three Days of Events at the Harbour

The festival concept combines classic street festival elements with the maritime character of Carolinensiel:

Harbour in Flames – The Grand Fireworks Display

The absolute highlight of the weekend is the grand fireworks display 'Harbour in Flames' on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, starting at 10:30 PM. Colourful pyrotechnic displays will ignite over the harbour basins, reflecting in the water and creating an impressive light show. The fireworks attract thousands of visitors annually, who gather along the harbour wall and adjacent squares to experience the spectacle.

The Sielhafen Scenery as a Stage

What makes the Carolinensiel Street Festival particularly special is its location: the museum harbour with its historic flat-bottomed sailing ships and cutters provides the backdrop, while the historic Sielhafen houses flank the festival grounds. As darkness falls, illuminated ships, lit-up houses, and finally the fireworks create an atmosphere that distinctly sets it apart from ordinary street festivals.
