Summer Open Air on the MLU Campus Heide Süd
Halle (Saale) is a university city — over 18,000 students are enrolled at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. The Heide Süd campus, in the west of the city, is home to the natural science faculties. On one day in June 2026, this otherwise ordinary campus will become a festival stage: The first Campus Festival Halle will take place here on June 18.
The organizer is Landstreicher Konzerte from Dresden, a well-known concert promoter in Central Germany. The concept is clear: a one-day festival on campus, with six acts, food stalls, drinks, and a summery open-air atmosphere. It is Halle's version of a tradition that has become popular in German university cities in recent years — the campus as a temporary festival venue.
The 2026 program deliberately mixes styles: Blond — the Berlin indie-pop sisters; Pöbel MC — political punk rap with an anarcho attitude; MilleniumKid — indie between bedroom pop and synthwave; OG LU and Yung Pepp — next-generation German rap; Ami Warning — singer-songwriter with a pop touch.
Thus, the festival covers a broad spectrum between techno, rock, electronic, pop, and hip-hop — fitting for the student audience with diverse listening habits. Admission is at 3:30 PM, the stage opens at 4:00 PM, and the program runs until approximately 11:45 PM.
Halle is the second-largest city in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, after Magdeburg. With the Martin Luther University (founded in 1502), it is one of the oldest university cities in Germany. The university shapes the cityscape — from the student pub scene in the Paulusviertel to student housing and cultural initiatives.
The Campus Festival is part of a burgeoning festival scene in Halle, which has grown in recent years with the Weckt-die-Toten Festival, Olé Party, SILBERSALZ, Women in Jazz, and many smaller indoor concerts. With the premiere of the Campus Festival in 2026, Halle (Saale) marks another point as a festival city in Central Germany.
Tickets are available through official channels. A special feature: There is a lottery for free tickets that interested parties can enter. This lowers the entry barrier and fits the student festival character.
A one-day event to kick off Halle's festival summer. The student-friendly concept (lottery for free tickets, fair ticket prices, campus atmosphere) aims to appeal to a broad audience — from students to young families to music enthusiasts.
Performance order and stage changes will be published on landstreicher-konzerte.de before the festival.
