Three Days of Civic Festival in Kösching
The Kösching Civic Festival is one of the fixed summer events in the Eichstätt district. The 31st edition from June 26th to 28th, 2026, attests to the long tradition of this town festival — jointly organised by Markt Kösching and the Kösching Business Association. The festival weekend begins on Friday evening, June 26th at 5:00 PM, and ends on Sunday, June 28th at 8:00 PM.
The Entire City Centre as a Festival Mile
During the Civic Festival, the centre of Kösching around the market square transforms into an open festival and enjoyment mile. Local clubs and businesses set up stalls, stages, and food trucks along the streets. Typical are the numerous culinary offerings from the clubs — from Bavarian delicacies to steaks and desserts — as well as the beer tent and wine street corners where locals and day-trippers from the Eichstätt district and the Ingolstadt region meet.
Music on Several Stages
Over the three days, several stages will host performances in the city centre. Live bands from the region as well as national cover bands alternate with folk dance, traditional costume groups, and the Kösching music band. Detailed band confirmations will be communicated by the Markt Kösching and the Kösching Business Association in early summer 2026.
Family Programme and Surprises
The Civic Festival has always been family-oriented: for children, there are play stations, a carousel, a bouncy castle, and small club games. Getting There
Kösching is located in the Eichstätt district, approx. 8 km northeast of Ingolstadt. By car via the A9 (Lenting exit) or the B16. Nearest train station is Ingolstadt Hbf, from there take regional bus 30.
Admission
Free admission to the entire festival mile. Food and drinks are available directly at the stands of the clubs and businesses.
