Citizens' Shooting as a Lived Tradition
The Bürgerschießen is a traditional component of North German Schützenfeste. Unlike a purely club competition, citizens who are not members of the club are also welcome here. Thus, Hasede becomes a shooting lounge for the whole village once a year, where neighbors, families, and club friends meet.
King's Shooting and Proclamation
Later in the festival, the shooters determine their new majesties. The festive proclamation – often with a marching band, flag bearers, and welcoming speeches – crowns the day. Afterwards, everyone celebrates, dances, and toasts the new dignitaries in the festival tent or clubhouse.
Hasede and the Municipality of Giesen
Hasede is one of the districts of the municipality of Giesen, located in the Innerste valley between Hildesheim and Sarstedt. The Schützenvereinigung Innerstetal Hasede unites shooting enthusiasts from the Innerstetal and is an important pillar of village life with its events. The Bürger- und Königsschießen is an expression of this voluntary tradition.

Shooting Sport with Citizen Proximity
In the Bürgerschießen, anyone who doesn't regularly stand at the shooting range can try their hand – a good opportunity to get to know customs and the club more closely. The Königsschießen is then about the honor of being queen or king of the club for a year.
Program Structure 2026
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the club in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years: opening in the morning, Bürgerschießen and Königsschießen spread throughout the day, catering in the festival tent, proclamation in the late afternoon or early evening, and a social conclusion.
