Burgenklassik-Concert Marksburg – Summer

The Burgenklassik series of the Stiftung Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz is not limited to the Pentecost date. In the summer, it continues its program at Marksburg Castle with further concerts that expand the musical spectrum.

A special highlight in 2026 is the concert by the Kyiv Tango Orchestra on July 27, 2026, at 5 PM in the Marksburg-Schänke. The orchestra combines Argentine tangos – the life's work of Astor Piazzolla and his successors – with Ukrainian soundscapes, creating its own distinct musical language that transcends genre boundaries.

The Marksburg-Schänke is an intimate concert space with excellent acoustics. The historic hall, nestled within the only never-destroyed hilltop castle in the Middle Rhine Valley, lends a special aura to every concert. Before the concert, the castle can be explored via the ramparts and courtyards; the view of the Rhine and Braubach is part of the concert experience.
