The most beautiful wine festival in the Palatinate in the historic courtyard of Neuleiningen Castle
Anyone who wants to experience a Palatinate wine festival in a special setting during the summer can hardly avoid the Burg-Weinfest Neuleiningen. In the castle courtyard of the castle ruins, which tower high above the Eckbachtal valley, wine lovers from near and far meet for four days. The old walls, the wide view over the Leiningerland, and the warm summer air create an ambiance that many describe as the most beautiful in the region.
The local wineries from Neuleiningen are responsible for serving the wine. They present their Rieslings, Weissburgunder, Grauburgunder, Spätburgunder, and Dornfelder. The wines come from nearby vineyards around the castle as well as from the wider Leiningerland. Wine tasting takes place in the castle courtyard, at standing tables, and on benches between the towers.
The Speeter family traditionally takes care of the culinary offerings, and their Palatinate cuisine is a staple of the Burg-Weinfest. The menu includes Saumagen, Bratwurst, Schäufele, Flammkuchen, salads, and vegetarian options. Palatinate home-style cooking in a castle setting.
Admission to the Burg-Weinfest is free. Payment is only for wine and food. This tradition allows families, hikers, and day-trippers to participate in the festival without any barriers. The live music in the castle courtyard changes daily, ranging from acoustic sets to cover bands for dancing in the evening.
