Christmas Market in the Second-Largest Town in the District

Buchholz in der Nordheide, with around 40,000 inhabitants, is the second-largest town in the Harburg district and an economic and cultural centre of the region. The annual Christmas market on Peets Hoff is one of the central Advent events and a meeting point for the citizens of Buchholz.

Four Advent Weekends 2026

The market extends over four Advent weekends, starting at the end of November 2026. The exact period and daily opening hours will be published by the town of Buchholz in the autumn. The extended duration distinguishes the Buchholz market from the smaller neighbouring markets that are only open on weekends.

Winter Village on Peets Hoff

For the Advent season, Peets Hoff on Bürgermeister-Becker-Straße is transformed into a winter village. Wooden huts, festive lighting, fir trees, and cosy seating areas create an Advent atmosphere that invites visitors to linger.

Artisans, Mulled Wine, and Snacks

Local and regional artisans present their work: ceramics, wooden figures, jewellery, textiles, Advent wreaths, and Christmas gifts. Puppet Theatre and Musical Performances

A special offering for families is the puppet theatre, which presents performances for children on several market days.
