About BrunnenHofkonzerte

The BrunnenHofkonzerte Trier are the free municipal concert series in the medieval Brunnenhof next to the Porta Nigra. From May to September, choirs, music associations, brass bands, and guest ensembles from Belgium, the Netherlands, and other neighboring countries present a varied program of choral music, brass concerts, folk music, and crossover. The Brunnenhof, with its high sandstone walls and central fountain, offers exceptional acoustics. The organizers are the City of Trier and ttm GmbH; the program of the Big Band Ruwertal (May 14, 2026) is also included.

The BrunnenHofkonzerte are the municipal counterpart to the curated jazz series “Jazz im Brunnenhof” and use the same venue for a broader, free-to-access format. Programmatically, the focus is on choral and brass music with occasional crossover accents. The series reflects the active club life of Trier and the greater region and allows Trier choirs and music associations to perform annually in a prestigious municipal context.

An important program component is the guest performances of international ensembles from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg – a consequence of Trier's special geographical location on the border with Luxembourg and in close proximity to the Belgian region of Wallonia. This international component is deliberately cultivated by ttm GmbH and strengthens Trier's perception as a cross-border cultural hub.

The Brunnenhof offers around 200 seats; the acoustics are favorable due to the surrounding sandstone walls. In case of bad weather, concerts may occasionally be relocated or postponed – information available from ttm GmbH and the festival website.
