Schloß Broich as an Open-Air Stage

One of the oldest secular buildings north of the Alps becomes a concert backdrop: Schloß Broich in Mülheim an der Ruhr, originally a Carolingian fortress from the 9th century, will host the Broicher Schlossparty for the third time in the summer of 2026. On Saturday, June 13, 2026, the inner courtyard will be transformed into an open-air concert venue.

DELUXE — the radioband

The headliner for 2026 is DELUXE — the radioband, an eight-piece show and cover band specializing in playing "hits from recent decades" live — from Bon Jovi and Tina Turner to Bruno Mars and Dua Lipa. The setlist covers the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and current charts — a program aimed at maximum danceability in the castle courtyard.

Schloß Broich — History and Present

Schloß Broich was built in the 9th century as a fortification against the Vikings and is thus one of the oldest surviving castles in Germany. Today, it houses a museum, a cultural center, and the inner courtyard, which has been regularly used for concerts, theater, and open-air events for several years. The Schlossparty is one of the newer formats and has established itself after two successful editions in 2024 and 2025.

Mülheim an der Ruhr — City in the Western Ruhr Area

Mülheim an der Ruhr is an independent city in the western Ruhr Area in North Rhine-Westphalia. With over 170,000 inhabitants, the city lies between Duisburg, Oberhausen, and Essen, traversed by the Ruhr River. Schloß Broich is located on the west bank of the Ruhr, directly at the transition to the Speldorf district — and, together with the Stadthalle, Aquarius Water Museum, and MüGa Park, forms one of the city's most important cultural areas.

Getting There

By public transport: Buses 125, 131, 135, and 752, as well as subway lines U102 and U901, stop at „Schloß Broich“. By car via the A40 (exit Mülheim-Heißen or Mülheim-Styrum). Parking: Stadthallenparkplatz (5 min. walk) or Park One (10 min.). On warm summer evenings, the public transport option is particularly relaxing.
