A festival of tradition since 1976
Brodenbach is a picturesque Moselle village on the right bank of the Moselle, between Koblenz and Cochem. It lies opposite Löf, at the point where the Brodenbach valley flows into the Moselle – one of the most beautiful side valleys of the Untermosel, featuring the famous 'Ehrbachklamm' hiking trail. The steep slopes around Brodenbach produce Rieslings of considerable quality, and the village has preserved a vibrant festival culture since the 1970s.
The 2026 Wine and Heritage Festival marks 50 years of festival tradition since its first major edition in 1976. At that time, the 'Ring of Brodenbach Associations' organized the festival with a memorable innovation: a floating dance floor on the Moselle. This pioneering achievement put Brodenbach on the region's festival calendar. Since 2009, the Interessengemeinschaft Wein- und Heimatfest Brodenbach e.V., chaired by Simone Krahl, has been responsible for organization as a registered association.
Over three days on the second weekend of September, the festival grounds and the adjacent village center transform into a continuous festival mile. The association's proceeds go towards promoting culture, sports, tourism, and trade in the community. Membership in the association is open to anyone aged 16 and over who supports the association's goals – with no membership fees, purely on a voluntary basis.
Musically, the 'Donnerlochboyz' – a well-known Rhineland party band – and the 'Musikfreunde Brodenbach' – the local brass band – are the established acts of the program. The Donnerlochboyz traditionally play on the big festival evening on Saturday, and the Musikfreunde Brodenbach play for the Sunday morning 'Frühschoppen' (morning pint/concert). The wines come exclusively from Brodenbach vintners and their neighbors – Rieslings, Spätburgunder, and Müller-Thurgau from the steep slopes around the village.
The 2026 Brodenbach Wine and Heritage Festival runs from Friday, September 11, to Sunday, September 13. The organizer is the Interessengemeinschaft Wein- und Heimatfest Brodenbach e.V., chaired by Simone Krahl. The festival grounds are centrally located in the village center.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the Interessengemeinschaft in the summer. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
