Traditional wine festival at the historic village center of Bretzenheim an der Nahe
Bretzenheim an der Nahe belongs to the municipality of Langenlonsheim-Stromberg and is located between Bad Kreuznach and Langenlonsheim. The Plaggen is the historic village center of Bretzenheim, a square with a long tradition as a meeting point for the village community. Important village festivals take place here, and the Bretzenheim Wine Festival is held here.
Several wineries shape the economic and social life in Bretzenheim. The vineyards around the village produce Riesling, Burgundy, Dornfelder, and Pinot Noir, which are part of the Nahe wine identity. At the wine festival, the Bretzenheim vintners present their current vintages directly at the stands around the Plaggen.
The local clubs provide culinary catering with Palatinate and Nahe specialties. Bratwurst, Saumagen, Flammkuchen, Reibekuchen, fries, and sweet specialties are standard, along with Palatinate wine spritzers, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks. Bands from the region play on the stage for dancing and atmosphere.
The Bretzenheim Wine Festival is not just a tasting event, but a weekend of village community. Former Bretzenheim residents return, club members meet each other, neighbors meet for a glass of wine. This atmosphere characterizes the event and makes it more than just a consumer event.
The 2026 edition continues the Bretzenheim tradition on the second weekend of August. Three days of festivities at the Plaggen with Nahe wines, Palatinate specialties, and live music. The exact program will be published by the organizer in the summer.
The exact 2026 program, including participating vintners and musical accompaniment, will be published by the organizer Weinfest Bretzenheim in the summer.
