Germany's largest brass music festival on Echinger See
The Brass Wiesn is Germany's largest festival for brass music and new folk music. On Echinger See in the Freising district, around 70 bands meet tens of thousands of visitors, who make the festival the biggest Wiesn stage for the younger generation year after year. The concept combines traditional brass music with modern pop, rock, and beat influences, clearly positioning itself between a Volksfest (traditional folk festival) and an open-air festival.
Stylistically, the Brass Wiesn spans several genres: classical brass bands, crossover brass bands, new Bavarian folk music, Balkan brass, and internationally oriented acts. Over the years, acts such as Edmund, LaBrassBanda, Shantel & Bucovina Club Soundsystem, Global Kryner, Oimara mit Bande, Die Fexer, Tom & Basti, Rian, and Menzl XXL have performed on stage. In addition, there are guest appearances by regional music ensembles.
The festival grounds extend around Echinger See, a former gravel pit lake that now serves as a local recreation area north of Munich. Several stages, a large beer tent atmosphere, and themed areas such as alpine huts, vintage tractors, and Bavarian decorations characterize the appearance. In addition, there is a dedicated camping area, which many visitors use throughout the weekend, as well as a cashless payment system.
Eching is located in the Freising district (AGS 09178) between Munich and the cathedral city of Freising and is easily accessible via the A 9 motorway and the S-Bahn line S1. With the Brass Wiesn, Eching has established itself as a permanent fixture on the Bavarian open-air scene.
The Brass Wiesn returns in 2026 for four days of brass music, brass, and Bavarian festival culture on Echinger See. Over 70 bands are scheduled for a packed program between traditional brass music, new folk music, and brass crossover.
The festival grounds, featuring alpine huts, vintage tractors, and camping, will once again offer the proven Wiesn setting. Tickets are available via brasswiesn.reservix.de; early bookers benefit from significant price advantages compared to the box office price.
Day-specific schedules will be published by Brass Wiesn Festival GmbH via brasswiesn.de and the Reservix ticketing system in the months leading up to the festival.
Eching can be reached by S-Bahn via line S1 from Munich Main Station in about 30 minutes. By car via the A 9 (Eching exit). A festival shuttle usually runs between the train station and the festival grounds.
Tickets are sold via brasswiesn.reservix.de (Reservix). There are day tickets, festival passes, and camping options. Early bookers pay significantly less than the box office price.
Pitch and tent sites are available on the festival's own campsite. Arrival is typically possible from Wednesday or Thursday.
