First two-day edition of Bracken Open Air with eight bands, camping, and children's program on the Ratzert-Brubbach sports field in the Westerwald
Bracken Open Air takes the big step in 2026: the previous one-day festival becomes a full two-day open air event with eight bands, camping, and an expanded family program. On the Ratzert-Brubbach sports field in the northern Westerwald, a lovingly organized, family-friendly festival weekend with a convincing price-performance ratio is created.
In 2026, the festival runs on Friday, May 29th, and Saturday, May 30th. Friday from 5 PM, Saturday from 12 PM. Camping from 5 Euros. Weekend ticket 20 Euros, free for children up to 14 years old. Headliner Friday: Alles auf Zucker + DJ Schuh. Saturday: Saitenhiebe, Immix, Smalltalk, Jackson Paranoia, Smokin' Parrots, Andra, Fourgreeds plus Fanfare of the Altenkirchen Music School.
Bracken Open Air is a Westerwald festival with passion. The organizer is Bracken Open Air e.V., a team of music enthusiasts organized on a voluntary basis, who lovingly establish their festival in their own region. After several successful one-day editions, the leap to the two-day format comes in 2026.
The festival site is the Ratzert-Brubbach sports field in the municipality of Mudersbach in the northern Westerwald. The open sports field offers space for the stage, food trucks, bar, and camping — a typical German sports field festival with the unmistakable charm of the voluntary Westerwald festival culture.
The evening kicks off with Alles auf Zucker, complemented by DJ Schuh for the after-show hours.
The main festival day offers eight acts: Saitenhiebe, Immix, Smalltalk, Jackson Paranoia, Smokin' Parrots, Andra, Fourgreeds. Saturday opens with the Fanfare of the Altenkirchen Music School — a beautiful generational moment before the rock and indie program.
Those who wish to stay overnight can camp with a tent or camper van on the festival grounds. The camping fee is 5 Euros. Sanitary facilities and showers are available, which is a welcome comfort relative to the festival's size.
Bracken Open Air is explicitly family-friendly. There is a dedicated program for children: kids' disco, bouncy castle, face painting, giant soap bubbles, fairy tale character, and new in 2026, "Clown Bracken". Children up to 14 years old have free admission — a clear statement from the organizers.
Weekend ticket for 20 Euros, children up to 14 free, camping for 5 Euros — Bracken Open Air thus offers one of the most attractive price-performance ratios in the German open-air scene. This is made possible by the voluntary commitment and the regional roots of the festival.
Bracken Open Air 2026 reinvents itself: First two-day edition on the Ratzert-Brubbach sports field on Friday, May 29th, and Saturday, May 30th. Eight bands, camping (€5), weekend ticket €20, children up to 14 years old free. Organized by volunteers, family-friendly, with an excellent price-performance ratio. Headliner Friday: Alles auf Zucker + DJ Schuh.
First two-day Bracken Open Air with a high-caliber regional line-up, expanded family program, and camping. A festival that elevates Westerwald festival culture to the next level — without losing its volunteer, family-friendly character.
