Charity cultural gala by the Bochum Lions Clubs at the Bochum Eventcenter
On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the 28th edition of the Bochum Spring of Culture will take place. At the Bochum Eventcenter on Rombacher Hütte 6–8, comedy, music, fashion, dance, and show combine for an evening whose proceeds will fully benefit social projects in Bochum. The event is supported by the community of eight Bochum Lions Clubs — a charitable tradition established in 1999.
The LEO Club Bochum-Ruhr, the youth organization of Lions International, traditionally handles the cloakroom and operates the payment system with "LIONS Dollars" (club-owned value vouchers) for refreshments. The LEOs are also involved in initiatives such as food drives for people in need.
The Bochum Spring of Culture has existed since 1999. Over the years, it has developed into the largest Lions charity gala in the Ruhr area. Aramark Restaurations GmbH is responsible for catering — their profit also flows proportionally into social projects. Previous editions featured acts such as Zirkus RatzFatz, Kamai Melon, and Roland Matthies with Jacques Brel interpretations — a proven mix concept.
The independent city of Bochum (approx. 365,000 inhabitants) is located in the middle of the Ruhr area (North Rhine-Westphalia) between Essen, Dortmund, and Hagen. It is a university city (Ruhr University Bochum), an industrial location with a history of structural change, and a cultural hub (Schauspielhaus Bochum, Bermuda3Eck, Bochum Total). The Bochum Eventcenter and the Lions Clubs are part of the city's dense network of clubs and cultural scene.
