The Bingen Sparkling Wine Festival is a three-day sparkling wine and fizz festival held in the courtyard of Bingen's city castle, Burg Klopp. The castle, high above Bingen's city center, dates back to Roman times and has been a city landmark for centuries. Date 2026: May 7th to 9th.
Sparkling Wine from Bingen and Rheinhessen
The focus is on Sekt (sparkling wine), Crémants, and other sparkling wines from Bingen and the Rheinhessen region. Several sparkling wine producers present their top products – from classic Riesling Sekt brut to Pinot Noir Crémants and rosé sparkling wines. Anyone traveling in Rheinhessen knows the region's sparkling wine culture: several significant sparkling wine estates (including in Bingen and Sprendlingen) shape the culinary offerings.
Burg Klopp as a Setting
The courtyard of Burg Klopp provides an extraordinary festival backdrop: historic masonry, wrought-iron lighting, and views of the Rhine and Nahe rivers. The castle now also houses Bingen's town hall, the local history museum, and an observation tower.
Three Festival Days, Three Bands
Open from Thursday to Saturday, starting at 5 PM each day. On Fridays and Saturdays, the festivities continue until 1 AM. Three different live bands provide the musical accompaniment: Back at Mamas on Thursday for a relaxed start, Extraordinary on Friday with a mix of pop and soul, and Couch & Cocktail on Saturday with lounge music to round things off.
Free Admission
Admission to the Sparkling Wine Festival is free. Drinks are served by the glass; no tickets or consumption cards are needed.
